rice: Karnataka rice wars: Beneficiaries to get cash in lieu of rice - The Economic Times
After failing to procure enough rice at a good price from both the states and Central corporations, the Karnataka Cabinet on Wednesday announced that it would pay low income families the cash equivalent to the 5 kg of rice the new regime had promised them, which would add to 5 kg from the Centre.
